Is it possible to make beautiful music with just two intertwining melodies? Bach did. Can I?
I have a bad habit (for my health, but good for my art) of taking on challenges laid down by the greatest composers of all time. In this case, it’s J.S. Bach, and his ability to write and improvise beautiful music with just two intertwining melodies. He called them Two-Part Inventions. I call them a problem. Bach laid down the gauntlet; I took him on, mostly because I don’t know any better.
